ASATA confirms that it has received the resignation of its president, Dinesh Naidoo.
As a function of the association’s structure, ASATA’s deputy president Shereen Morolo has stepped in as the acting president and will hold that position until such time as the ASATA board elects a full-time president to replace Naidoo.
“ASATA is constituted in such a way that appointing a new president follows a set process, which includes a call for nominations by the board nominations committee. The nominess will then be reviewed to determine the best candidate to take the association forward as its president,” confirms Otto de Vries, CEO ASATA
“We are grateful to Shereen for stepping into the role so swiftly and I look forward to working closely with her as we continue to represent the industry in these trying times,” adds de Vries.
Lance Smith, Avis Budget Rent A Car Executive Sales, has also resigned from the ASATA Board, as he is retiring. It is the requirement of ASATA’s Constitution to have one board member representing partner members. The Board Nomination Committee will therefore invite partner members to nominate their representative to the Board.
