Coronavirus update: FAQ

With the sheer scale of unconfirmed and inaccurate information circulating on the Internet about the Coronavirus, ASATA has created a dedicated Coronavirus page on our website and have now added FAQs derived from the World Health Organization (WHO), National Institute of Communicable Diseases(NICD) and the Centre for Disease Control (CDC).

We are constantly monitoring updates from all relevant and reliable sources, including the above mentioned and we are in contact with the NICD to provide relevant updates to the South African public and travel trade. Currently, there are no travel and trade restrictions in place for South Africans wishing to travel, however, all but essential travel should be considered when travelling to high-risk areas.

The impact of COVID-19 on the travel industry is unprecedented and unpredictable. The nature of the content that is being shared on the ASATA coronavirus microsite is therefore constantly changing. Please check the date of the post to ascertain its recency.
