IATA Update: Air Italy

Last Updated on

Following the cessation of operations of Air Italy earlier this year, IATA agreed with the airline on a process to manage the orderly winddown of the airline’s participation in the IATA Settlement Systems, taking into consideration the unique Covid-19 period market conditions.

In this regard, the airline has been addressing pending refunds in the BSP markets the airline participates in. The airline committed to meet all its obligations during this period and placed a full security deposit with IATA to secure this winddown plan.

However, please note that this process is now nearing an end and the airline will be suspended from the BSP systems as per applicable resolutions on 18 December 2020. Agents are encouraged to process any pending refunds as per this timeline.
